Laser Cutting and CNC Routing Fabrication Services - San Francisco
We have a Universal VLS 6.60 Laser Cutter with a 18″x 32″ bed size. The machine can cut vector or raster files in a variety of sheet stock materials including plastics, woods, fabrics, paper and more.
We also have a 48" x 96" CNC Router which can cut full 4' x 8' sheets of plywood, wood, plastic, corian, a variety of composites, thin aluminum and more. Our prices are competitive and generally much lower than any fabrication service in the Bay Area.
The LASER CUTTING process works like this:
1. Quote: E-mail us your cut file for a quote [info (at) future-cities-lab.net]. We accept .dwg, dxf, .ai, .3dm. Layers should be organized by name/color like this:
Black = Cut
Red = Score
Blue = Layout
Please draw 18"×32" layout boxes around each cut sheet. Label each cut sheet with an identifying number, and add digital text to indicate the material and thickness. The price is based on cut time, material and associated setup costs.
2. Price: We’ll respond with a quote by e-mail (usually within one business day). Normally we can guarantee a 48-hour turn around on basic orders, sometimes quicker. We can also do rush jobs. Send us an e-mail if you accept our quote.
3. Drop off: Bring your material sheets (cut down to 17.75″ x 31.75″) to our space in Dog Patch [2325 3rd St. #229, San Francisco, CA 94107 (map)] with a 50% deposit. We accept personal checks, major credit cards and PayPal.
4. Pickup or Delivery: You can either pickup your order or we can arrange to have it delivered. Please note that full payment is due upon delivery - COD.
The CNC ROUTING process works like this:
Send us your 2d or 3d digital file by e-mail. Please include dimensions, material thickness, material finishes, project timeline and other project details. You might also send us renderings or images of similar projects that you think will help us understand your design and fabrication intent. We'll look at you materials and give you a call to discuss your project. We can do small prototyping projects through large scale installations.
CUSTOM DIGITAL FABRICATION SERVICE: We can also work with clients to design, model and prototype design files for their digital fabrication projects using laser cutters, 3D Printers, 3 and 5 axis milling machines, and more. We can consult and/or manage all levels of this process.
