[8/22/14] Paralux Bench exhibited at 3D Printer World Expo

PARALUX BENCH by Future Cities Lab

The Paralux Bench is an experimental  prototype for a full-scale 3d printed responsive bench. Each module of the bench is printed using multiple materials ranging from soft to hard, opaque to translucent. Thousands of pressure sensors and LEDS are woven into the modules allowing it to respond in real-time to people sitting and standing within its proximity. The small 3d printed prototype exhibited at the 3D Printer World Expo was printed by Fathom on a Objet500 Connex3 3d printer. Project team: Jason Kelly Johnson, Ripon DeLeon, Katarina Richter.
